Avalanche Powers Japan’s New Multi-Token Platform
Avalanche’s enterprise division has secured a major win in Asia. TIS Inc., which processes about half of Japan’s credit card transactions, launched its Multi-Token Platform on AvaCloud. AvaCloud is Avalanche’s managed blockchain service.
The platform aims to digitize a large part of Japan’s $6 trillion payments ecosystem. It will issue and manage stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and digital securities on a single system.
TIS is known for its PAYCIERGE payment infrastructure. It handles over ¥300 trillion in transactions yearly. With this blockchain system, TIS plans to expand into programmable finance while ensuring compliance and reliability.
Isao Otokita, Managing Executive Director at TIS, said, “This service safely enables the issuance, management, and distribution of diverse digital assets.”
AvaCloud simplifies blockchain deployment. It manages scalability, security, and governance. This lets companies like TIS focus on integrating products.
The Multi-Token Platform will use Avalanche’s Glacier API suite to maintain transparency and provide real-time network data. This supports regulatory oversight for financial institutions.
Japan Advances Toward Regulated Blockchain Finance
TIS’s adoption of Avalanche shows Japan’s steady move toward regulated blockchain finance. Instead of small pilots, TIS chose a full production infrastructure.
This move signals a shift from experimentation to enterprise-ready blockchain applications in Japan’s financial sector.
Avalanche’s Growing Presence in DeFi and Institutional Finance
In the past year, Avalanche smart contracts tripled to over 44 million. Decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes exceeded $2.2 billion within just three days.
TIS’s integration with Avalanche highlights the network’s growth from DeFi projects to large-scale financial systems.
Japan’s use of Avalanche for a nationwide payment system shows blockchain is moving beyond retail DeFi. It is becoming part of mainstream financial infrastructure.
