BNB Chain’s ReachMe Messaging Platform Shuts Down
ReachMe, a paid messaging service by BNB Chain, has officially shut down. The platform confirmed on its website that all operations have stopped. User data has been securely deleted following its privacy policy. No new transactions or message exchanges are possible.
The ReachMe team said, “After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our service.”
Background on ReachMe and Its Usage
The platform gained attention earlier in 2025 when Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) used it to handle inbound messages. He charged users a small fee in BNB to send direct messages to him.
In February, Zhao launched a “Pay to Reach” feature. This feature allowed anyone to contact him for 0.2 BNB per message. The price rose from 0.04 BNB due to a large increase in spam messages.
Challenges for Blockchain Messaging Platforms
ReachMe’s closure highlights the difficulty of sustaining blockchain-based messaging services. Despite early interest, the platform failed to maintain user engagement long term.
This shutdown shows the instability of Web3 social apps, where monetization often struggles to balance accessibility and usefulness.
For BNB Chain, this ends one of its experimental projects. ReachMe’s short life illustrates that many token-based ideas do not achieve lasting adoption.
