Famous hairstylist Javed Habib and his son Anas face legal action. Sambhal police filed a case against them for cheating over 150 people. The scam involved their company, Follicile Global Company (FLC).
They allegedly promised very high returns to investors. Many were tricked into investing in cryptocurrency schemes.
Investors Promised High Returns on Bitcoin and Binance Coin
The scam dates back to 2023. Javed and Anas Habib held a meeting at Royal Palace Banquet Hall in Sarayatreen, Sambhal. Around 150 people attended.
They convinced investors to put money into Bitcoin and Binance Coin. The promise was 50–75% returns within one year. Many trusted the Habibs and invested large sums.
Company Shut Down After Collecting Funds, Investigation Ongoing
The fraud surfaced when investors asked for their returns. They found the company had shut down.
SP KK Bishnoi told reporters, “A group of people approached the police stating they were defrauded of lakhs of rupees by Javed Habib, his son Anas, and others under the name Follicile Global Company.”
He added, “They had organized a meeting at Royal Palace Banquet Hall in Sambhal, promising 50–75% returns within a year. Investments were made in Binance Coins and Bitcoins. When investors demanded their money back, the accused closed the company and absconded.”
Several investors, including Mohammad Hilal, Rehan, Aman, Majid Hussain, and Mohammad Naim, filed complaints at Raisatti Police Station. Some funds are believed to have been transferred to an account under Saiful, who claims to be an FLC director.
Additional SP Alok Bhati is leading the investigation. Police are tracing the money and searching for all accused individuals.
The police have registered a case for serious fraud and cheating. They urge anyone with information to come forward. This case highlights the risks of cryptocurrency investments, even when promoted by well-known figures.
