Samsung and Coinbase Expand Crypto Features for Wallet Users

On October 3, 2025, Samsung Electronics and Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) announced an expanded partnership. This update adds new crypto features for Samsung Wallet users in the United States.

According to Samsung’s press release, customers will get a three-month trial of Coinbase One. This subscription service offers zero trading fees and higher staking rewards. Users also receive a $25 trading credit after completing their first trade.

New Features for Samsung Wallet Users

The integration lets Samsung Wallet users see their Coinbase balances directly in the app. They can view these alongside credit, debit, and loyalty cards.

This feature aims to create a unified financial interface. Users no longer need to switch between separate apps. The update builds on a previous integration that allowed crypto purchases through Samsung Pay.

Drew Backlard, Mobile Product Management at Samsung Electronics America, said:

“Millions of Galaxy users rely on their smartphone to complete everyday tasks, and that goes far beyond communication — it’s paying in-store, unlocking a car, showing an ID, and more. Samsung Wallet enables each of these experiences and we’re continuing to expand its functionality.”

Mainstream Adoption Through Consumer Tech

By embedding crypto services into pre-installed apps, Samsung and Coinbase improve accessibility for everyday users. Samsung’s large U.S. user base could expose Coinbase to new demographics.

This integration reflects a wider industry trend toward multi-function “super apps.” These apps combine payments, banking, and investing in one platform.

Samsung is also diversifying its crypto strategy. Alongside this exchange partnership, the company invests in stablecoin infrastructure.

Industry Implications

This collaboration shows how tech firms are blending crypto with traditional finance. Similar partnerships may increase competition among mobile wallet providers.

Samsung Wallet aims to become a platform that integrates crypto into mainstream financial tools. Its success depends on consumer adoption and whether other tech companies follow suit.
