Sorare Announces Migration to Solana Blockchain
Sorare, an NFT-based fantasy sports platform, has announced it will migrate to the Solana blockchain. The company described the move as “not a replacement, it’s an upgrade.”
The migration aims to speed up Sorare’s vision of an open, on-chain sports platform. Sorare wants to focus on speed, liquidity, and utility in the new digital sports economy.
Migration Details and Timeline
The migration started in early October 2025. Sorare’s ETH balances are moving from StarkEx to Base, Coinbase’s Layer-2 network. By the end of October, all Sorare cards will be reissued as Solana NFTs.
The cards will keep their original scarcity tiers, XP, metadata, and serial numbers. Sorare will also support multi-chain payments using ETH, SOL, and stablecoins for in-game purchases and rewards.
Users will be able to manage assets via Phantom Wallet. They can also trade cards on external NFT marketplaces like Magic Eden.
Future Plans and Industry Context
Sorare hinted at launching a utility token. This token would reward users for gameplay and trading. It would also unlock new features in the Sorare ecosystem.
Other projects like Helium and DeGods have also migrated to Solana. They chose Solana for better performance and lower costs.
