Startale Launches SuperApp for Sony’s Ethereum Layer 2 Blockchain

Startale Group and Sony Blockchain Labs introduced Startale App, a SuperApp for Soneium. Soneium is Sony’s Layer 2 blockchain built on Optimism. The app combines wallets, tokens, and decentralized apps in one interface.

Using account abstraction, the Startale App allows one-click onboarding. Users can interact with the blockchain in under three seconds. The app is currently in closed beta and serves as the main gateway to the Soneium ecosystem.

Soneium processes over 10 million weekly transactions and has more than 90,000 active addresses. Users can create wallets instantly using just an email. They can also explore dApps and earn rewards through Mini Apps and STAR Points, the native rewards system.

SBI and Soneium Record Growing Blockchain Adoption

SBI Holdings confirmed its partnership with Startale Group in a recent investor report. The collaboration focuses on advancing onchain tokenization and stablecoin infrastructure. This reflects growing institutional interest in blockchain services in Japan.

Soneium recently set a record with 4.4 million transactions in a single day. This marks a significant rise in network activity and user adoption. Animix Tech, a Soneium for All grant winner, integrated ASTR tokens into its AI-powered trading card game. This expands Soneium’s role in digital gaming.

Soneium Bridges Web2 Simplicity and Web3 Scalability

Soneium, co-developed by Sony and Startale, is Japan’s largest corporate Web3 project. It runs on Optimism’s OP Stack and uses zkEVM privacy from Astar Network. The platform offers fast transactions and Ethereum compatibility.

The Startale App simplifies blockchain use by uniting wallets, assets, and utilities into one platform. Users can stake, swap, and interact without switching apps or multiple signatures. Developers can also build Mini Apps within the platform for easy Web3 experiences.

Startale CEO Highlights New Era of Blockchain User Experience

Startale CEO Sota Watanabe called the SuperApp a milestone to “bring the world onchain.” He announced new growth programs, developer incentives, and ecosystem partnerships. The goal is to allow users to engage with blockchain easily and securely every day.

Through its partnership with Sony and Soneium, Startale aims to reduce barriers to Web3 participation. The app pioneers a user-first approach on enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure. As companies like Sony, Startale, and Astar collaborate, more fintech and entertainment firms are expected to offer Layer 2 solutions.

This venture places Soneium at the intersection of consumer technology and open finance. It signals a shift toward usable blockchain services over hype.
